What we use, and why

Essential — sign-in

When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets secure cookies that keep you logged in and protect your session. Without these, you could not stay signed in. They are strictly necessary and cannot be turned off.

Functional — your preferences

We store small amounts of data to remember things you choose, such as your buying preferences (from Find My Car), the cars you are comparing, and the listings you recently viewed. Where you are signed in, recently viewed is also synced to your account so it follows you across devices.

Analytics — privacy-light

We record anonymous, aggregated engagement events (for example that a listing was viewed, saved or compared) to power Trending, Most-Viewed and recommendations. We may use a first-party session identifier to de-duplicate events. These events are append-only and are never readable by other users; we never use them to build an advertising profile.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in. Functional and analytics data stored locally can be cleared by clearing your browser’s site data for carjio.com.
